Ford F-150 Mechanic Problem

About 75 days ago I was running errands downtown for about 2 hours. I would park, come back and restart the engine....maybe 3 times. (driving slowly returning to suburb about 4 miles at 30 mph. ) . My last stop was at the drug store a block from my home. When I came out of drug store my truck would turnover strong but not start. I walked to a neighborhood mechanic shop, they came back with me about 2 hours later and the truck started on first crank. Drove back to mechanic shop and they looked it over and said I needed a fuel pump. I said I would wait till it failed to replace it. The guy charged me $89.00 to look it over and offered to deduct that when I came back.

It starts regularly , no other symptoms that I am aware of. What do you think?
