please need help how do I replace driver side window 1998 ford explorer sport thieves broke it to pieces stole what was inside i am disabled and need to know if i can fix need to know how do I replace drivers side window is it possible to do it yourself i have good mechanic skills or do i need to have pro do it

You can do it yourself.


1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove door trim panel and watershield. Remove inside door handle from door. Disconnect rod from inside door handle.
Place window glass mounting point in accessible position, at lower part of door.

2. Remove the holding bolts and clear all broken glasses. Ensure no glass pieces are embedde in run channel.

3. Put new door glass in by slanting it in to be slotted into the run channel.

4. Lower door glass till it seats onto the mounting points and install mounting bolts. Tighten mounting bolts.

5. Test door glass operations and reverse procedures to complete installation.
