what do they do for a internal leak in one cyclinder

I had a remanuf-engine put in 6-8 months ago, had problems with smelling coolant alot. ford kept given me the run around. Finally after all this time and much $ later they tell me theres a internal leak in one of the cyclinders, they dont know why this happened. They are tearing it apart now an will let me know more tomorrow and how long they will have my vehicle. My question is what are they gonna do to fix it. Does this possibly mean they will have to get a new reman engine from frd or what?
