Ford Escort Tire Problem
I have a 1998 Ford Escort that the engine runs smooth on, but a whumping noise started under the left front side - it isn't the tire - any ideas on where to start looking?

well put tires front to back to see if it makes a difference, then have axle and wheel bearing checked.
