Dodge Intrepid Radiator Problem

My car was overheating so I testedd the water pump by removing a hos and started the car..and seen water rush out so i put it back together and replaced the thermostat and the temp guage still goes up.. only way to cool it downis to turn on my heater... new hoses and no leaks

First of all did you burp the air with the bleeder screw on the thermostat housing? Check the radiator for signs of corroded and crumbling cooling fins. Also be sure the radiator fan is turning on.
