1998 Daewoo Lanos Repair Question

Radiator light after replaced hose
My top hose on my 1998 daewoo lanos had a hole and was spraying coolant my mate replaced it now my radiator light is coming on it wasnt before though what causes this?

Is it full of antifreeze? If the overflow bottle is not to the max mark it will make the light come on telling you the antifreeze is low.
