Chrysler Intrepid stall, shut off

On my way to my friends house I would loose lights on the dash board, and the car was acting like it is going to stall, then the lights on the dash board would come back. On my way back, the car would start for 10 seconds and die, for a couple of times. Then it want start at all, lights on the dash are o.K. But starter want crank.
Towing the car to the shop, when we drop the car, we tried to start it. It would start but die again after 10 seconds. Then it want crank again. In the shop they changed one battery cable, the car starts, but now when you put it in D position check engine light comes on, and no RPM on dash.
Once you put it in P check engine light comes off.
Today the car want even start again. Yes, some wiring has been checked, but nothing happens.
