1998 Chrysler Cirrus Coolant censor

Does them coolant censor make the car run hot or stop the fans from running. My car has being building up pressure and it doesn't release it until the car us completely over heating. I need to find out what could be causing the problem instead of just letting a mechanic take a guess before putting it on a machine and charging me an arm and a leg.

Yes the coolant temp. Sensor turns the fan on. At a. Certain temp. So does. It. Overheat according to the gauge or just boil over the cap

What size engine do you have. Does the coolant boil over at 210 on. The gauge.

6 Cylinders H 2.5 MFI. Sorry its not boiling at 210. It starts getting hot halfway up?The gauge.
