WIRE HARNESS MELTED TOGETHER
1998 Chevrolet Astro • 4 cylinder 2WD Automatic • 120,000 miles
I dropped my chevy astro van at an automotive shop for an fuel pump replacement... He said, he did not dissconnect the the battery fron the post...I do not know if the key was in the off position or not... however can it cause a short in the electrical system...ie blown fuses, burned wires or melted together wires at the harness, under dash. It happen less then 20 hours after picking up van...Need help, thanks.
No, there is not connection to that failure. The fuel pump isn't even powered unless the engine is running.
The van was being driven when the wires melted together...My questioned was could this short happen because of the connection being done with the battery connected to the post and the van in the on positon at time of assemble...
And the answer was NO.
