I have bought an aftermarket radio to install along with a wiring harness, only thing is the wiring harness does not have a wire for steering wheel controls wen though my new radio does and the car has the controls already. I just was going to cut and splice the wires bypassing the harness for those specific wires. Which wires do I need to cut and splice? I believe there are 2.

Thanks
Jose

If the radio has steering wheel comparability, then there's a correct way to wire it. Call the radio manufacturer and ask for the instructions if you don't already have them. Most of them also have this info available on their website

I know which wires from the aftermarket radio to use, I do not know which wires from the car itself to use. I would like to disconnect the necessary wires from the male harness and splice them with the new radio's steering wheel control wires directly. Which wire(s) would I need to disconnect from the existing male harness?

The diagram is showing just a dark blue as the control. The only other wires to the steering controls are gray and black and theyre for illumination
