1998 BMW 318i Repair Question

BMW 318i Battery Problem
Battery went dead, I connected battery cables to car and let the battery charge a while, now the car will not turn over at all. All of the lights inside come on and work but when you turn the key nothing happens no sound at all coming from engine compartment at all what could be wrong.

It might be a issue with the drive away protection. it is an electronic unit that might require realignment , it will require a scan of the car with the proprietary BMW scan tool to determine the solution never the less.
