I would like to know if I can use a timing belt with 146 tooth instead of the 148 tooth belt seeing that I change my water pump and the gear on the new pump is smaller than the one I had in before. When I install the new pump the belt is not as tight as before.

I ATTEMPTED TO LOOK UP YOUR PART AT

advanceautoparts. Com

UPON ENTERING YOUR INFO IN "ADD A VEHICLE" (UP TOP THE DROP DOWN BESIDE "SEARCH")

THERE ARE 4 VARIATIONS OF THE 850 (ALL BEING 5 CYLINDERS)- THE "R" AND "T-5" LOOK TO BE THE ONLY 2.3 LITERS

WHEN YOU ENTER "TIMING BELT" AFTER YOUR VEHICLE IS SAVED

YOU GET SEVERAL "HITS" (BRAND/ QUALITY/ WARRANTY/ ETC)

WHEN YOU CLICK ON ONE, IN THE READING IT "ASKS" FROM WHAT SERIAL NUMBER TO WHAT SERIAL NUMBER IS THE ENGINE?

YOU HAVE ALL THE INFO, (AS I DON'T, IT'S A GUESSING GAME FOR ME!)

YOU GIVE IT A TRY AT THE SITE I LINKED ABOVE

PUT IN ALL THE RIGHT INFO AND READ ALL THE SPECS FOR THE ONE YOU CHOOSE.

RETURN HERE LET ME KNOW IF IT ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION!

FURTHER DOWN FROM THE BELTS ARE THE FULL KITS, I MAY BE ABLE TO SHOW YOU HOW TO SAVE SOME $$$ BEFORE YOU COMMIT!
