I have a 97 toyota tercel and it is blowing black smoke out the bak and it is very slow to go and it shifts very slowly and it idles high. Could you tell me an opionion of whats wrong?

Its running too rich-check and test the following below:

1. Excessive fuel pressure can be cause by restricted fuel return line
2. Defective Oxygen Sensors.
3. Leaking injectors and fuel pressure regulator.
4. Coolant temperature sensor out of calibration.
5. Restricted air intake system.
