Outback 97 shuddering when accelerating hard. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

I hear it can be the front axle or u joint. Are these expensive to repair?

Do you mean do it yourself or having it done?

Having it done by the mechanic?

And is it really this problem?

The car shudders if I accelerate hard. And it only happens when I'm in gear. I also have to rev a bit more around 2000-3000 rpm if I don't have it to shudder when I'm changing gears.

Sorry for the typos,

I want it to be done by a mechanic.

The car shudders if I accelerate hard. And it only happens when I'm in gear. I also have to rev a bit more around 2000-3000 rpm if I want to avoid the shudder when I'm changing gears.

Could also be motor/trans mount broke/loose allowing axle vibration to occur/be felt when it normally would not. And of course you have to explain what you mean by expensive? To not correctly identify the cause and to keep replacing parts would be what I deem expensive.
