Could also be one of the following: the starter, starter relay, clutch switch/park and neutral switch/transmission position switch and ignition switch assuming the battery condition and connections are good. Note:

My thought's on it would be test the battery make sure the battery cable's are clean and tight. On that car it doesn't have a chipped key or pass lock.It use's a starter disable that run's thru the remote key less entry module. It sound's like a bad starter though. If you have a multimeter or test light i could guide you thru seeing why it doesn't start.

Hello,

So, did you have this issue before the water pump?

Have you tried to jump start the vehicle? As you know it is possible to have a weak battery that is not strong enough to start the engine.

When you turn the key does it make any noise?
Any clicking?

If you are getting clicks but not start it could be faulty starter.

Let me know what you have tried so far.
Thank you.
