Plymouth Voyager Knob Problem

I was taking apart my dashboard, and started with the small panel that houses the headlight on/off switch, the interior lights roll switch, and the side mirror adjustors. I went to pull the knob out that controls the headlight on/off function and it completely broke everything behind it. It all came apart, multiple pieces of small metal and knobs. I fear that I broke it for good, and would like to know what steps I need to take to fix it. The headlights won't turn on, because the on/off function knob is completely dismantled. Please help!
