1997 Oldsmobile LSS. Can what sounds like ABS engaging at times it shouldn't be related to a transmission problem?

Have a 1997 Oldsmobile LSS. For awhile what seems to be the ABS has been engaging at times it shouldn't be. The ABS light has never come on. Now the check engine light came on and the scanner gives out a code that something is slipping in the transmission. The car runs great otherwise. Can this be related? What might be wrong with the transmission.

the trans may be a gear ratio mis match which is a slipping trans. it may need to be overhauled.

as far as the abs, it will not effect the trans. it is a separate system. get a shop to check the system.
