Mitsubishi Chariot Hood Problem

I want to charge my battery but when I pull the bonnet/ hood release the hood is not popping up to the position to put my hand in to open catch. can someone help please?

Have a helper pull the release while you tap on the hood near the latch assembly. See if that helps. If it doesn't you may have a broken release cable. Let me know what you find.

yes that worked wel lthank you very much, next question , same car the motor "hunts" as we say in NZ after it is warmed up and driven say ten minutes. when pulling to a stop the revolutions go crazy up and down repetitively maybe from 1000 rpm to 3000rpm

Make sure to spray some lube on the hood latch so it doesn't stick. As far as the idle, check for vacuum leaks and check the idle air control valve.
