What will cause a brand new EGR valve and MAF sensor to code?

I had my car engine coded. I replaced the EGR valve, MAF sensor, spark plugs and wires, and air filter. The service engine light stayed off for a day then can back on this morning. Got the car coded again and it's saying it's the EGR valve and MAF sensor. What would cause them to code? What can be done to stop it?

Check the egr to make sure nothing is leaking. check the wiring to the MAF to make sure everything is in good condition and making good contact.
