1997 Mercedes Benz E200 Repair Question

Mercedes Benz E200 Engine Problem
Most problamatic automatic gearbox, first problem shifting from 1st to 2nd. Repaired that, now the car has broken down again. Should I fix the gearbox again or completely replace it? Apperantly the problem is with the valve body set in the gearbox. Anyone have a similar problem? This has got to be the most poorly engineered gearbox ever seriously!

I would say the repair job was not done well. If it is a poorly engineered trans, replacing one is going to come back with the same problem.
