1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Repair Question

I have a 97 grand cherokee. The a/c clutch wont engage. I checked all the fuses and they are good. I ran the clutch strait to the battery and it worked flawlessly. I put the freon that temporarly fills leaks in it and it worked for about 5 mins and then stopped. What could the problem be?

The refrigerant is probably pouring out as fast as you're putting it in there. It needs to be checked out professionally before you do more damage to the compressor.
