X308 UPPER RADIATOR HOSE
1997 Jaguar XJ8 • V8 2WD Automatic • 150,000 miles
Hi, Over the past year my Jaguar XJ8 Sovereign has developed a problem with the Upper Radiator Cooling Hose. The hose disconnects itself from the engine. The hose has been replaced for a new one, but it still happens. The problem is infrequent and it has happened around three or 6 to 10 times this year and the problem appears to be getting more frequent. The Car is a 1997 V8with a 4 Ltr engine. Last time it happened a few weeks ago, I had the Thermostat changed and then did a 1000Km round trip from Kiev to Odessa and back with no problems. This morning, I started the car and drove less than 5 Km and it came off again. I recall having a similar problem in the UK with a different Jaguar V8 Sovereign but on that occasion, the coolant escaped from the overflow or overpressure pipe next to the coolant filler/pressure cap. On that occasion, I replaced the Thermostat and the water pump and the problem went away. Whilst I have changed the Thermostat on this car, I am told the water pump seems to be working ok. The car has done around 250,000 Km but everything else is fine. Can you help?
