I think that my starter is bad. About 4 days ago I tried to start and nothing happened. After 3 or 4 key turns it started. It did the something every time till now. I'm stuck with no money for a tow and nothing but a couple of screwdrivers. To make things more difficult I'm in front of my x wife's home and the kids are getting impatient to leave with me.

Hello,

This could be due to a couple of different possibilities.
If it makes clicking noise as you try to start it then the issue is likely a starter or could be a corroded or lose wire to the starter.
Make sure that the battery cable is clean and secured, also verify that the cable attached to the starter is free of corrosion and secured.

If there is no sound as you try to start the engine, then it could be the ignition switch.
The ignition switch is the electrical component that the lock cylinder attaches to. Over time the connector on the switch will get worn and start to give you intermittent or no starting issues.

I have attached diagrams for the starter and the ignition switch replacement procedure below.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
