Where is coolant drain?

I'm trying to figure out how to drain my coolant/radiator. I removed upper and lower radiator shrouds, took the fan out, but I can't seem to leave the drain plug. I read a couple forums that said on the 97 gmc jimmy it would be on the drivers side but I couldn't find it. On the passenger side near the bottom of the radiator there was a small plug that said you could use a quarter inch ratchet that you would turn slightly and it should drain out, which I removed completely and got nothing. Am I in the wrong spot or removing the wrong piece? Should I just follow the hose from the coolant tank to the radiator and take it off? I'm soooo lost, please help!

The drain is at the bottom of the radiator tank below the radiator cap. See pic you might need to put a piece of wire into hole as it may have junk preventing it from draining. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.
