Hi there, my girlfriends car has always had a violent***** when changing gears. 1 morning the car decided not to move. i came to have a look and the car would rev up but wouldn't move, i checked the transmission fluid but couldn't see very much, i put in a litre of fluid in (maybe too much) and ran through the gears. it worked fine, but i found that there was transmission fluid all over the place, now it seems it is leaking fluid, i think i may have ruptured a gasket or something. i guess what i really would like to know is, was it the fluid that was causing the problem, or is the transmission in need of replacing?
