Ford F-150 Shifter Problem

My truck is an automatic. Lately it will not always engage into park. It sometimes rolls backward or forward and you have to push the gear shift harder to engage it. I notice it happens sometimes when trying to put truck in reverse and it engages into drive. It seems like the gear shift is loose. Not sure where to start. I am hoping it is a shifter problem and not a transmission problem.

CHANGING MY SEARCH WORDS MAY BRING YOU OTHER HITS

I SUSPECT IT'S EITHER A CABLE OR LOOSE LINKAGE AT THE TRANNY ISSUE
