Missfiring, and maybe vacuum leaks. Get it checked now to find out the issue

Thank you. I had my sons friend come by a few weeks ago because the engine light was on and he said it was the esr valve? But no safety issues untill I can get it fixed but now last night I did not think I was gonna make it home from work it also smelt like something was burning I have to get to work I have no money can I drive it.

Symptoms indicates the engine is most probably misfiring and causing the catalytic converter to overheat. It is best not to drive under such conditions to avoid further damage
