Hello, I am pretty much having the exact same problem. Only diff is I have the 2.5 engine and a standard tranny. I also have the squeel from the engine. I think thats a intake leak at the tps. My check engine light is on for a crank position sensor/cam position sensor. Ive replaced the crank sensor but not the cam sensor. Ive done a full tune up and cold air intake with no change. If anyone knows of a solution, id be very greatful

Also, mine is a 96 dakota which is a diff body style. However most of my parts I have to order for a 97. Most of the 96 parts are incorrect which is pretty weird

So I broke down and bought a new computer for my truck. I cut the old one open and it was completely fried inside. It even smelled burnt. The engine stall is gone, but it's still idling horribly and the take off is extremely delayed, along with shifts and braking. However the truck is finally giving a check engine light! Took it up to get the code today and found out the timing is off. If the rain here ever stops I'll take it up to an auto parts store and adjust the timing. Either that or just take it up to a shop to get it adjusted for me.
