I have a 97 chevy s10 4.3 X code my question is this I know the head gasket is fine and there are no leaks, I replace the heater core, all hose's, water pump, thermostat, and flushed the system three times I also did a pressure test and it was fine, but the temp gauge still reads hot (red zone) after 5 minutes could it be the coolant sensor

If the gauge reads hot and the engine isn't actually overheating, that would be my first guess, the sending unit.

If the fan clutch is bad, it could cause the engine to overheat when in stop and go traffic. However, at highway speed, it shouldn't happen.

Congrats on the triplets!

Are you sure it wasn't losing coolant there? The system is pressurized when it gets hot. Has the coolant been getting low? Also, is there a reason you feel there may be an air blockage in the system?
