Where is the heater core and how do you replace it?

Remove or Disconnect

Air cleaner and duct assembly.
Drain coolant.
Throttle body and throttle body tube (3.4L only).
Both heater hoses at heater core.
Lower center console (if equipped).
Both sound insulator panels.
Lower heater duct.
Heater core cover.
Heater core mounting clip and bracket.
Heater core.

Install or Connect

Heater core.
Heater core mounting clip and bracket.
Heater core cover.

Tighten

Screws to 3 Nm (27 lb in).

Lower heater duct.
Both sound insulator panels.
Both sound insulator panels.
Both heater hoses and clamps to heater core.
Throttle body and throttle body tube (3.4L only).
Refill coolant.
Air cleaner and duct assembly.

HEATER CORE
Removal & Installation
Remove air cleaner and duct assembly. Drain cooling system. Disconnect negative battery cable. On 3.4L engines, remove throttle body and throttle body tube.
On all models, disconnect hoses from heater core. Remove lower center console (if equipped). Remove both right and left sound insulators from below instrument panel. Remove floor duct leading to rear compartment. Remove cover and heater core. To install, reverse removal procedure.
