I recently replaced the ignition switch and went to put everything back together and everything was going smoothly until I went to put the steering column lock and c clip back on and cannot get it. It seems like the shaft is not up as far as it should be. I had the spring behind the steering lock fully compressed and could still not get the c clip in.

There are bearings in the tilt knuckle. They sell a rebuilding kit for the tilt knuckle.I would just pop the little bearings out off the new bearing and replace the missing ones in the tilt knuckle bearing or u your going to have to remove the knuckle. Uwill need to get a pivot pin puller tool. Then remove the knuckle and hammer out the old ones and install the new ones
