I just watched your video and it didn't help me. The problem I have is getting hood to initially pop up. Latch is broken. I can hear a little noise when I pull on it, but I have to push down before it's going to pop up. Any suggestions please?

If the latch mechanism under the hood is broken and your not talking about the steel release cable? If you can get the hood up, you might try lubing the latch mechanism, if that doesn't work, replace latch mechanism.

If your having trouble getting the hood up, you might try removing the front grille, then see if you can reach the latch mechanism?

Are you saying the handle in side the vehicle for the release mechanism is broke? If so, can you get ahold the steel cable with a pair of vice-grips and pull? Will the hood pop up a little? Sometimes it helps to have a helper stand at the front of the hood and pop the hood with palm of hand as you work the release cable.

Most vehicles have secondary release under front of hood, that you have to release. Is that secondary release broken? I can't see much from where here?
