1997 cadillac catera, wont shift, hard transition between revers to drive.
Sluggish to start, seems to "stick" in 1st gear, doesn't shift while driving or acclerating to highway speeds. had it scanned, came back with something about the control solenoid for the tranny

I will need the fault code, there are a number of solenoids, they are fairly easy for your mechanic to replace, best to go get a quote first let me know the exact code and how much they want to do the job.
