I have a 1997 BMW 740iL, at aprox. 55 mph (and only within 3 or 4 mph of that speed up or down)my steering wheel has a wobble/shake. I have had the upper control arms replaced and have had the wheels balanced and realigned. The wobble/shake nulled out for about one month but is now back to the same wobble/shake as before. I had it checked again and the new mechanic said it could be the front struts. He said one was leaking. I also have what sounds like a rubber on rubber squeeking when I turn the wheel to park or pull out of a parking spot. Don't hear the squeek while traveling at speed. I would like to know if it could be the struts and if so are you 100% sure or like 50% sure or somewhere inbetween.

I would check the thrust arm bushings first.

No all, but a place to start.
It is also difficult to diagnose some problems from the office.
