Engine swap
I am replacing the engine in my 1996 Subaru Legacy outback with a manual transmission, can I replace it with the same size motor from the same year and modelfrom a car with an automatic transmission ?

Yes, you can. The engine are similar whether they are manual or automatic.

u can also put a 2.2 engine in but it has to be automatic and it would plug right in. There a way engine all you have to do is change the front pipe
