Stalled then cranked but not turn over?

96 saturn sl happened before turned key and nothing but started when I popped clutch now it wont previous to the aforementioned, car sometimes not crank when I turned key but would start after another try. While driving I was at a stop car died cranked but not turn over(start)a week or so before I turned key and nothing, started when I popped clutch tho. Now it wont start at all. HELP

Just to add to this one the engine will crank over but not start?If so you could have a bad coolant temp sensor. Have you tried holding the gas pedal all the way to the floor while trying to start the car?
