1996 SAAB 900 Repair Question

SAAB 900 Engine Problem

Car has poor acceleration. Tends to bog down when I accelerate and you can feel it sputtering. New fuel.pump ,filter,and fuel lines. Freeway driving is pretty good until I accelerate faster. Slight pinging.in the engine when sitting in park. Car does not have a turbo. Not included on this mode

have the back pressure checked for cat converter. it may be clogged not allowing the engine to breathe

Should I take it into a Saab mechanic to check it out? I noticed there is a lot of exhaust coming out at start up. Could be more noticeable because its cold over here? coolent levels are good.

I plugged the exhaust with my hand and it didnt kill the engine. I amell a lot.more fumes then a usual exhaust.
