I have a 1996 olds 98 regency v6 that has a battery only a few months old but it has been sitting for a couple of months and now it wont start or even turn over. Should I check the battery, altenator or starter?

Make sure the battery has a full charge. If the battery is low, take it off and get it charged. Some of the national brand autostores will test it for you and charge if necessary.

It is possible, if the vehicle has set for several months, the battery could be down. That is the first thing I would check. If the battery has a full charge and connections are good, next, I'd have to see if dash lites come on, when you turn on the key, If they don't, I'd have to check feed to and from ignition switch.
