Coolant problem 96 Sentra

The coolant ran out in my car, I have a 96 nissan Sentra xe. I filled it back up and let the car run. Them I took it out to see if it would overheat and the coolant was gone again. Is this normal, do I have to refill multiple times or does this mean there is a leak somewhere, my car wasn't dropping anything but it's been raining so I can't check now.

The first thing I would do is check for leak pressure test the cooling system.

In the meantime, check the coolant at radiator cap. If level is low, top it up and start engine without radiator cap for a few minutes, topping up till it stabilises and close radiator cap.
