1996 Lexus LS 400 Car noise

My car makes a loud buzzing or rattling noise when I turn on my air conditioner. Sounds like something is loose. It doesn't do it when the air is off so I'm sure that has to be the cause of the problem, but am open to any advice given. Thank you

A few things happen when you turn your a/c on. The blower motor comes on, the a/c compressor starts spinning, and the cooling fans will come on. So where is the noise coming from? Does it happen when you turn on the defrost also for the front windshield?

If you turn the heat on on high, do you still hear a noise? If so, there is a buildup of debris in your blower motor. If you only get it when the ac compressor is on, the compressor clutch is shot.
