My jeep grand cherokee has be stalling, stalling out and backfiring. It cranks up then knocks off sometimes. Once it is running it will hesitate and or not take fuel. It has also backfired. I replaced the fuel filter and cleaned out the throttle body and had the fuel pressure checked (it was good). Mechanics looking at it do not know what else to do w/o taking apart the fuel tank to get to the pump.

Could be the fuel pump and fuel filter unless its being caused by one of the following below

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/engine-hesitates

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Crankshaft position sensor
Knock sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing.
