1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport
Starter
Once the starter has engaged it will not disengage.
Replaced the starter but did not help.

Check for a sticking starter relay and also inspect the flexplate

I'D SAY EITHER YOUR IGNITION SWITCH HAS A PROBLEM (HOW DO YOU MAKE IT STOP?)

OR MAYBE YOU NEED TO SHIM THE STARTER WITH SHIMS

I'D GO WITH RASMATAZ, UNLESS THIS ALL STARTED, AFTER DOING SOMETHING TO THE STARTER
