1996 Isuzu Rodeo Repair Question
Mileage: 1 miles.
Problem with alarm device - preventing repair of car.
Answer
Also, the information blank didn't enter what I placed. The car has well over 100,000 miles on it...Not 1. Sorry for any confusion.
The alarm system is shorted to constant power somewhere within the electrical system
Try unplugging the anti- theft connector in the left kick panel if it continues I strongly recommend you seek a more qualifying technician that's capable of troubleshooting the electrical system-I've been trying to pull up the anti-theft electrical wiring but to no avail. Sorry
When you say it won't start -Is it cranking over and will not start or just won't crank at all/nothing happens when you turn the key to start-
@Rasmataz: It won't do anything but turn on the dash lights and do that very annoying horn honking alarm. No engine sounds whatsoever.
Disconnect the horn lead for the time being and try this link: http://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-engine-will-not-crank-over
The horn button switch in the steering wheel could be shorted out check the too
I guess my other question would be: If we completely removed the electrical feed to the security system...would the car still start?
The security system is tied into different circuits such as the starter motor disabling or fuel/ignition system, etc-hard to say if it'll work-again it depends how its wired to the electrical system-seek professional advice- I'm sorry I don't think I can help you any further-
