Hi:
My daughter's vehicle has had cooling issues since we purchased it last year. Weeks after we got it, it overheated...my son in law put in a new thermostat, but that didn't do it...New radiator, new cap..fast forward 6 months...lose AC...about 4 months later..overheating again, daughter used stop leak product..1 month later heater started blowing cold..As it sits now..there is no heat..was tested several times, and found no leak (head gasket ok), but fluid can be seen leaking from passenger side underneath near the radiator..there was a plug or screw under the radiator that was loose, and was tightened..pinhole leak on top of radiator now(but not sure if the size of the leak can correspond with the amount of coolant loss)..sometimes the gauge shows an overheat..sometimes its simply steam and coolant loss..were told the heater core needs to be replaced..do all these symptoms go together, or are we looking at several issues at the same time?..Don't want to keep spending money on "tests" without some idea of what we are dealing with. What should we look at next?
Thank-you!!
