1996 GMC Suburban tranny

My tranny want go in reverse. When I put it in reverse it drives forward like its in drive. It does this in every gear. It also makes a noise underneath the truck grinding type of noise. Itvwas working fine going to church I drobe it on the highway to church. I had the cruise control module on when chuch was over theit took off fine soon as I got on IH35 it started to stall out on me. Then it goes inndrive in all gears. And massair control w as bad I replaced bythe but what do I do about the transmission

Scan for codes and see if trans is shifting into reverse it may be a cable problem.

Thanks brother, and yes thats what it is. I had it scanned for codes this morning. It looks like a easy job from the look of a few videos on youtube. Rather expensive at some of thr shop I called and being that I have two big boys in college playing football, and a daughter in her senior year and she running track in California next year, a junior and he do the most. Sports, band, choir and work sorry bro. So it pretty much is going like the cables on the carbonrater right?

Actually there are two cables and it's very important not to lose a little tiny piec on first cableotherwiase you need that one as well. We dont' have any pics so hope these instructions are suffiecient for you.
