I think I blew my engine, it knocks, but before it blew- the engine oil cooler tube to the radiator came off some how while I was driving it so I'm thinking of replacing the engine. My question is, " what years of engines can I use with the 96 to be compatible to work". In your opinion is it worth replacing. I should add that all this happened at the same time within 2 miles. Thank you becky

If the rest of the vehicle is in good shape and you like it replace the motor. Theyre very common so getting one from a salvage dealer should be very easy. They'll know from their database what years of motors fit that truck when you call them. Be smart. Check ebay and call around for prices, and don't forget to do the same with having it installed. Id check for shops in the local better business bureau first.
