1996 GMC C1500 Repair Question

GMC C1500 Engine Problem
Engine will crank over ,but will not start . it acts like it wants to but will just sometimes pop through the exshaust. don't know if it's crank sensor or maybe fuel pump .

i would start with fuel pressure test
