Ford Escort Body Problem
My 1996 ford escort accelerates by itself when i put it in drive its not the gas pedal i get on the freeway and it goes up to 80mph by itself i have to hold my on the break while i drive so it wont increase speed what could be the problem please

Do you have a check engine light? Clean the idle air control valve, throttle body/plate and test the TPS closed and WOT voltages
