1996 Chrysler Minivan 3.8L. 360,000 miles, looks almost new. We have serviced (changed oil every 3500 miles, etc) and cared for this van religiously. To us it is still like new. It has started heating up at about 8 miles from start. This came on slow (sometimes heat up, sometimes not for weeks. Now every time. I can coast hills with the motor off and make it home. I have had it to 2 really good local mechanics (small town of 8500 population). They say "not thermostat, not sensor, not radiator, not coolant, not water pump". Does not loose water in radiator when it gets hot. I hate to go into the motor "searching for the cause". Is that the only thing left to do?

Disable fan when hot and put hand on several spots on radiator if you feel any cold spots the rad is bad. Should be same all over. Then have pressure checked for ahead gasket. It could also be form using red coolant to green sometimes it builds up sludge in block and loses cooling because if it but only way to tell is pull cyl heads.
