Input and output shaft speed sensor location please?

Our speedometer went crazy and truck will not advance Engine light turned on and codes are p0700 and p0722 we changed the speed sensor but no change it does the same thing what can it be. Please help

Well p0700 would relate to p0722 and p0722 is Output Speed Sensor No Signal, so either your part is defective and or wiring/connector. It could also not be properly connected. With the p0722 your transmission will not shift properly therefore causing your vehicle to not advance. Check the diagrams and instructions below to make sure you have the speed sensor installed correctly. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

The trans can be burnt up as there may be no fluid pressure to engage anything. There are 2 different applications of trans for this truck so it can be stuff like metal causing it as well.

Hello. I’m trying to find the output shaft speed sensor on my truck 2500hd to replace it and haven’t been able to locate it on my own. I was hoping to get a detailed explanation on where it is located. Thank you in advance.

I attached the various locations depending on transmission. There are three options, 4L60, 4L80, and Allison. Each picture is attached.

Greetings- I was wondering were the Speed input sensor is located. Was at the local transmission shop and they hooked up to scanner and said was a code for bad sensor, sold me the sensor but never told me were it was located. Thanks for any help

Hello,

The input shaft speed sensor is located on the left side of the transmission about halve way in the middle of the case. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Hi,

The VSS, vehicle speed sensor, is on the right rear of the transmission. See pic 1 below. Additionally, the two remaining pictures are the directions for removal and replacement.
